Expect a workshop filled with contrast, creativity, and endless inspiration.
Sharon has chosen the locations for their contrast: copper-green rooftops and stone chapels, glass towers and metro stations built as works of art. You will learn to photograph both, and the space where they meet, as fine art that is unmistakably yours.

WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
LEARN, GRASP & CREATE
The workshop doesn't begin and end in Montréal. You arrive prepared, shoot with purpose, and leave with finished work.
PART I
Pre-Course Zoom Training
2 sessions · 6 hours
Two 3-hour Zoom sessions before you travel. Sharon teaches her signature Blurred Cityscapes technique and shows how each location can be approached, so you arrive on day one ready to create.
Also covered: abstract and expressive approaches, long exposure, image stacking, and advanced B&W post-processing. Recordings are provided.
PART II
Five Days on Location
3 + 1 + 1 days · 3 h classroom
Three days in Montréal, a travel day along the St. Lawrence, and a final day in Québec City. Sharon leads the group to pre-scouted locations at the best time of day for the light.
A 3-hour classroom session in Montréal reviews your images while you still have shooting days ahead.
PART III
Post-Course Image Review
2 sessions · 6 hours
Two more 3-hour Zoom sessions after you return. Submit 6 of your finest images from Montréal and Québec City, and Sharon reviews each one for vision, technique and post-processing.
This is where raw captures become polished, exhibition-worthy work. Recordings are provided.

Q&A
GOOD TO KNOW
Is accommodation included?
No. Flights and hotels are your own. Sharon will recommend a centrally located Hosting Hotel in each city, close to the main shooting locations. We will all be leaving from the Hosting Hotel each morning.
What should I know before joining?
To get the most out of the workshop, basic and intermediate Photoshop knowledge (layers, masks, selections, pen tool and gradients) is recommended. Image stacking and long exposure are not taught from scratch, but are explained and encouraged throughout.
Do I need to speak French?
No. Both cities are welcoming to English speakers, and the workshop is taught in English. A friendly "bonjour" always helps.
How much walking is involved?
Quite a bit. Québec City is hilly, with plenty of stairs. Plan for several kilometres a day (while carrying your camera gear) on foot in comfortable shoes.
