Seeing Lines - From Conception to Completion (Sundial Bridge Images)
~20–30 min
“Seeing Lines” takes you behind the scenes of Sharon’s Sundial Bridge series, offering an in-depth look at her creative process from the initial idea to the finished images.
The presentation walks you through Sharon’s pre-visualization, showing how she develops her vision before pressing the shutter, and then follows her complete workflow as she transforms that initial concept into a finished work of art. You’ll see her thought process, methodology, photographic techniques, and post-processing decisions along the way.
It’s an opportunity to see not just what Sharon created, but how and why she made each creative decision from conception through to completion.
The Power of Colour in Photography
~60-90 min
Colour is one of the most powerful storytelling tools available to a photographer. In this presentation, we'll explore how colour harmony, saturation, and brightness influence the mood, emotion, and impact of an image. You'll learn why some colour combinations feel pleasing while others create tension, and how subtle adjustments in post-processing can completely transform the way a photograph is perceived.
The goal of this presentation is to help participants become more intentional in their use of colour—both in-camera and during post-processing. By the end of the session, you'll have a deeper understanding of colour theory, practical techniques for enhancing your images, and the confidence to use colour as a creative tool to strengthen your photographic vision.
Daytime Long Exposure Photography - from the artistic vision to technical know-how.
~60-90 min
What if you could take an ordinary daytime scene and transform it into something completely unexpected? Long exposure photography allows you to do exactly that. Moving water can become silky and ethereal, clouds can stretch dramatically across the sky, and busy scenes can be simplified into beautifully minimal compositions.
In this presentation, Sharon will explore both the creative and technical sides of Daytime Long Exposure photography. She’ll begin with the theory behind the technique and look at what makes a great long exposure image. Composition, subject matter, movement, light, and the relationship between static and moving elements all play an important role in creating an image that goes beyond simply having a slow shutter speed.
She’ll then dive into the technical details, covering camera settings, shutter speeds, exposure, focusing, and how to determine the right settings for the effect you want to achieve. She’ll also discuss ND filters in detail, including the different strengths available, which filters are actually worth buying, and how to choose the right ones for your photography.
And if time permits, Sharon will finish with a practical post processing demonstration, taking one or two long exposure images from start to finish and showing how to bring out their full creative potential.
Whether you’re new to long exposure photography or looking to take your existing images to the next level, this presentation will give you the knowledge and inspiration to start seeing daytime scenes in a whole new way.
