In today's session, we:
Explored David's striking close-up of red flower petals. Together, we worked on enhancing the image by creating greater tonal range, depth, and separation through the use of layers.
Reviewed Yuki's beautiful ICM image. Inspired by the style of Shona Perkins, we explored how to achieve a similar mood and painterly feel—not through Dodge and Burn, as Shona does, but by using Photoshop's Solid Colour Adjustment Layer, along with several other adjustment layers, to introduce colour, atmosphere, and tonal richness. We also discussed various cropping options and how composition can strengthen the visual story.
Looked at two images from Cindy, where we discussed why a foreground isn't always essential to a successful composition. We explored alternative ways to create depth, strengthen the narrative, and guide the viewer's eye through the image.
